As Atlantic hurricanes continue to intensify and become slower, these climate-induced transformations have significant effects on the spatial distribution of disaster impacts.
Further compounding these changes is the lack of effective communication and coordination (on both the local and national level) across Hurricane Alley, generated and exacerbated by the way hurricane data is produced and the lack of interoperability across data systems involved in hurricane monitoring and analysis.
LOCATED lab investigates the role that hurricane data plays in disaster management and is developing methodological approaches and data processes to integrate local experiences and participatory GIS into disaster management across the Caribbean
