We work with in-situ data collection methods such as ground mapping with GNSS receivers, drone mapping, and LIDAR to understand LULCC (land use and land cover changes) in remote communities caused not just internally by cultural and economic changes, but by natural disasters and external drivers such as conservation, state, and extra-local interventions. Our GIS work complements other research interests through approaches such as disaster mapping, resource mapping, and community and participatory GIS.
